Job Title: Instrumentation and Calibration Technician

Ever-Green Energy Inc is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Calibration Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, development, and maintenance of our metering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical investigations, evaluations, and calibrations of metering systems to ensure accurate measurement of customer energy use.
  • Manage metering systems, including the use of wireless and fiber optic technology, to ensure reliable customer mechanical system interface.
  • Provide scheduling and budget control for construction, maintenance, and repair projects to ensure minimal disruption to customers.
  • Collaborate with internal staff, contractors, and consultants to ensure communication continuity and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships through customer contact and ongoing training efforts.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a two-year post-secondary program covering relevant technical topics and three years of experience in instrumentation and communication technologies, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, municipal authorities, and customers.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams, with a strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Valid Minnesota driver's license and a good driving record.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Course work in building HVAC, operations, and maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • Course work or equivalent experience in project management, with a focus on budgeting, cost control, and records management.
  • Ongoing continuing education of software, metering, and other technologies necessary to maintain systems.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or demonstrated applicable skills in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Program).
  • Working knowledge of metering systems, wireless and fiber optic technologies, and IP (Internet Protocol) networks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to communicate verbally, crouch, far visual acuity of 20 feet or more, fine manipulation of picking, pinching, or otherwise working with the fingers, gross manipulation of seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands, foot/leg controls, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, keyboarding, kneeling, lifting and carrying to max of 50 lbs, near vision acuity at approximately 20 inches or less, peripheral vision, pushing, pulling, reaching at/below shoulder level, sitting, standing/walking, stopping, and confined space with limited entry or exit.

The employee is frequently required to climb ramps/stairs, and climbing ladders/ropes/scaffolding.

The employee is occasionally required to use a respirator, and crawling.
