Position Summary

Blythe Construction is in search of an IT Support Specialist to join our Technology team. This role will serve as the main point of contact for assigned locations and will collaborate across the organization. The IT Support Specialist will engage with both internal and external resources to guarantee optimal system performance. Responsibilities include providing Tier 1-2 support for Windows-based desktops, troubleshooting software applications, assisting users in maximizing application efficiency, and delivering clear technical communications for issue escalation to senior management or vendors. A solid understanding of Windows software, diverse hardware knowledge, and strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Timely creation, review, and management of Tier (1-2) support tickets.
  • Deliver end-user desktop support through remote tools or in-person assistance.
  • Acquire knowledge or demonstrate ability to learn about Ring Central Support and Jira.
  • Install and configure new Windows 11 computers, monitors, and printers.
  • Assist with system administration tasks, including server upgrades, patches, deployments, and architecture reviews.
  • Gain knowledge or show ability to learn about Cisco switches, internet connectivity, and Cisco IP phones.
  • Develop clear process and system diagrams along with supporting documentation.
  • Support projects and tasks as needed.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, prioritization abilities, and multitasking capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain tracking systems to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and project progress, coordinating with vendors for software and firmware upgrades.
  • Generate comprehensive reports to aid business operations and decision-making processes.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to end users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Participate in meetings as required, offering regular and accurate status updates to project participants and department leadership while adhering to management guidance and policies.
Qualifications
  • To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each key duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential functions. A valid driving record is required.
  • Education, Experience, and Skills:
    • A minimum of 7 years of technical experience with hardware and software.
    • Experience in Windows and virtualized environments.
    • Proficiency in utilizing an ITSM system for change and incident management.
    • Experience providing end-user support for Windows 10, Windows 11, printers, and monitors.
    • Preferred knowledge of Windows Server, server hardware, scripting languages (PowerShell), domain administration, network troubleshooting, and various IT infrastructure components.
    • Microsoft training and relevant certifications are advantageous.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours or participate in an on-call schedule when necessary.
    • Desire to share knowledge and assist in cross-training peers.
    • Able to work independently and effectively with remote team members as needed.
  • Physical Demands: The following physical demands are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:
    • Periodic physical effort, including standing, is necessary during an average work shift of at least eight hours.
    • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects (up to 40 lbs).
    • Travel to assist users or deploy systems as required.
  • Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role:
    • Work is primarily conducted indoors, although occasional visits to construction sites may be necessary.
    • Noise levels in the office environment are typical.
