Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of the technician involves implementing post-harvest, processing, and packaging strategies in alignment with the operational protocols of Flow Distribution for cannabis cultivation. Technicians are responsible for daily tasks throughout the cannabis production cycle, which includes the packaging and labeling of cannabis products. The Post-Harvest Technician will support the transition from harvesting to trimming. This position is characterized by a fast-paced environment that requires repetitive manual labor. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and demonstrate respect for colleagues, the plants, and the workplace. Candidates should be adept at managing high-pressure situations and be flexible in adapting to changing circumstances. Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hanging and drying plants
  • Bucking and destemming plants
  • Managing drying racks
  • Taking direction from supervisors and managers
  • Hand manicuring leaves from flowers
  • Trimming excess stems from flowers
  • Consistently producing high-quality products
  • Documenting strain trimming patterns and techniques based on cultivar
  • Effectively communicating information regarding plants and equipment
  • Maintaining focus while working independently
  • Meeting or exceeding weekly production goals
  • Collaborating respectfully in both independent and team settings
  • Adhering to safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
  • Ensuring high-quality standards throughout all processes
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Setting and achieving goals within deadlines
  • Calibrating and maintaining all relevant equipment
  • Performing repetitive tasks with a high level of attention to detail

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engaging in ongoing education and professional development as necessary
  • Identifying hazards and reporting incidents through appropriate channels
  • Maintaining confidentiality related to job functions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional cultivation and production teams
  • Assisting in production trials and efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Complying with all legal and company regulations
  • Cleaning communal areas as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or labor roles is preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry at least 50 lbs. to a height of 5 feet and over a distance of 50 feet without mechanical assistance
  • Experience working safely in a warehouse environment
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
  • Maintaining a positive attitude that fosters teamwork
  • Effective communication skills across various formats

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Exposure to various environmental factors including fertilizers, dust, odors, and extreme temperatures

JOB SCOPE

This position operates under the direct supervision of the Post-Harvest Manager, adhering to established policies and procedures while contributing to the development of new practices as necessary. The role involves primary interactions with the operations and cultivation management teams.
