Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Program Specialist 3 to join our team at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families. This role will involve managing and administering the Integrated Developmental Evaluation & Assessment (IDEA) tool, as well as conducting assessments for youth and families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the juvenile justice or social service field, with experience working with diverse populations and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct IDEA assessments for youth and families, gathering pertinent information and validating data.
  • Develop and implement assessment tools and protocols to ensure accurate and effective evaluations.
  • Collaborate with community providers and families to gather information and support the treatment process.
  • Participate in regular QA and IRR meetings and exercises to ensure quality and consistency in assessment practices.
  • Train JR staff on how to administer assessments and use in practice.
Requirements
  • 6 years of experience in the juvenile justice or social service field providing therapeutic or rehabilitation services with clients from diverse backgrounds who have complex needs.
  • OR an Associate's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Mental Health, Healthcare Administration or a related field, AND 4 years of experience in the juvenile justice or social service field providing therapeutic or rehabilitation services with clients from diverse backgrounds who have complex needs.
  • OR a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, Mental Health, Healthcare Administration or a related field, AND 2 years of experience in the juvenile justice or social service field providing therapeutic or rehabilitation services with clients from diverse backgrounds who have complex needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the function of risk and protective factors as the influence juvenile justice involved youth's progress and outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of the Integrated Developmental Evaluation & Assessment (IDEA) tool.
  • Working knowledge of risk and needs assessment tools in relation to adolescent case management.
  • Working knowledge of the Juvenile Rehabilitation Integrated Treatment Model.
  • Working knowledge of evidence-based programs to reduce recidivism.
  • Working knowledge of the Juvenile justice continuum of care.
