Job Summary:

As a Packaging Maintenance Technician at National Frozen Foods Corporation, you will play a crucial role in maintaining production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a strong attention to detail, flexibility, and emphasis on efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning equipment, estimate time for repairs, and perform the repairs.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Use hand tools and power tools to make adjustments to equipment.
• Communicate effectively and work with multiple departments across multiple facilities.
• Maintain a high level of organization and comply with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

• Strength: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects, with a maximum weight of up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Stand/Walk: Stand and walk a maximum of 3 hours prior to each break period.
• Climb/Balance: Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and the like using the feel and legs and/or hands and arms. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on a narrow or slippery surface.
• Reach: Extend both hands and arms in any direction.
• Handle: Seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with the hands.
• See: Obtain impressions through the eyes of the shape, size, distance, motion, color, or other characteristic of objects.
• Twist and Turn: Able to twist/turn trunk of body from side to side.
• Stoop: Bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
• Kneel: Bend the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knee or knees.
• Crouch: Bend the body downward and forward bending the spine and legs.

Requirements:

• GED or HS diploma
• Minimum two years' experience as line mechanic
• Ability to obtain forklift certification
• Able to work independently and as a team to meet established deadlines
• Attention to detail, flexibility, and emphasis on efficiency
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attendance record
