Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Sonographer at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care services using diagnostic medical sonography. Under the direction of the manager and medical director, you will work independently to perform ultrasound procedures, analyze sonograms, and communicate findings to physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify patients using two demographic identifiers and review physician orders for procedures to be performed.
  • Check for clinical information, expected dates, and procedural contraindications.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures using independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesizing sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Ensure imaging quality meets quality control standards and stay abreast of organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes.
Requirements
  • Completion of a radiology or sonography program from an accredited institution.
  • No previous experience required, but sonography clinical experience and PACs experience are preferred.
  • Credentialed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within one year.
