Job Overview:

This role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, presentation, and sanitary conditions of shared spaces, individual resident rooms, and laundry areas as assigned on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Support the organization's mission, vision, and culture through effective communication and leadership.
  • Foster community relationships by demonstrating professionalism and cooperation with residents, families, colleagues, healthcare providers, and vendors.
  • Contribute to team dynamics by being adaptable in work assignments, providing support, taking initiative, and understanding the interrelation of this role with other positions.
  • Maintain an appropriate work pace in relation to assigned tasks, ensuring timely completion while adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Utilize commercial laundry equipment and other cleaning tools typically associated with this position.
  • Stock cleaning and laundry carts with necessary supplies, ensuring the laundry room is kept clean and chemicals are organized.
  • Fold linens and clothing items, adhering to laundering protocols.
  • Change bedding for residents as required.
  • Label resident linens with unit numbers for identification.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize communal areas, restrooms, and resident bathrooms.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adapt to changes in the work environment as needed.
  • Familiarize oneself with the organization's Policies & Procedures Manual and Associate Handbook.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
  • Be prepared to work in various areas within the department.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, employees, and community matters.
  • Respect the rights of residents.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with all individuals, particularly the elderly.
  • Promote a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to assist colleagues when necessary.
  • Follow established task procedures diligently.

Job Requirements:

Skills:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in residential or hotel housekeeping or laundry services.
  • Ability to read and understand labels and instructions for all cleaning chemicals used in the community, ensuring safe and proper usage.
  • Capability to comprehend and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Possession of a valid First Aid Certification may be required.

  • Maintain mental alertness and concentration as required.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions (written, oral, or diagrammatic).
  • Adapt to situations that require precise adherence to set limits, tolerances, or standards.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, or listen; able to stand, stoop, bend, and reach into small areas frequently; lift and push up to 50 pounds.
  • Must utilize necessary safety equipment during lifting and adhere to safety training protocols.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Possess adequate physical stamina to navigate the community and assist residents as needed, including in emergencies.
  • All physical demands must be met by every associate, with reasonable accommodations considered for individuals with disabilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Willingness and ability to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
  • May be required to work in wet or slippery conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.
