Position Overview:

As a Heavy Machinery Maintenance Specialist at Palmetto Grading & Drainage, you will utilize your mechanical expertise in a fast-paced setting. Your primary role will involve the upkeep and repair of our extensive fleet of heavy machinery and vehicles. If you excel at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues, we are eager to consider your application.

Essential Skills:
  • Strong mechanical understanding
  • Effective task prioritization
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting service manuals
  • Safe handling of hand and power tools
  • Experience in disassembling, repairing, and reassembling machinery
  • Adept at diagnosing and addressing mechanical failures
  • Familiarity with welding equipment (preferred, but not mandatory)
  • Willingness to work outdoors
  • Valid driving record with safe habits (Hazmat certification is preferred, assistance will be provided for the right candidate)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and repair hydraulic systems for leaks, damaged hoses, or worn seals
  • Travel to various locations to conduct necessary repairs on heavy machinery
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on company-owned and leased vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate machinery components as required
  • Maintain awareness of safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment

Our fleet comprises around 30 pieces of heavy machinery along with 10 trucks (including dump and lowboy types). Contribute your skills to ensure our equipment remains in excellent working condition.
