The Automotive Service Center Courtesy Specialist plays a vital role during the 17-Point Oil Change process, focusing on tasks that enhance the customer's experience. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle and ensuring it is ready for service.
Key Responsibilities:
During the 17-Point Oil Change, the Courtesy Specialist will:
1. Welcome customers and place protective seat covers in their vehicles.
2. Drive the vehicle into the service bay, preparing it for maintenance by opening the hood, rolling up windows, unlocking doors, and removing keys.
3. Conduct the Tech Talk service.
4. Prepare service documentation and apply static stickers as needed.
Perform Courtesy Cleaning:
5. Vacuum the interior, wash exterior windows, clean headlamps, and wash mirrors.
6. Visually inspect wiper blades.
7. Check and adjust tire pressure as necessary.
8. Reset the oil indicator light, if applicable.
9. Start the vehicle to check oil pressure, then drive it out of the bay to present to the customer.
10. Thank the customer for their visit and encourage them to return in the future.
Additional Duties:
All team members are responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of the service center, including mopping, washing windows, and removing litter. Attendance at crew meetings and other tasks assigned by a supervisor is also required.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic literacy in reading, writing, and math
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate motor vehicles
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in using mechanical hand tools
- Attention to detail
- No prior experience or training is necessary.
Working Conditions:
Exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and vehicle exhaust fumes is common throughout the shift.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires good corrected vision and hearing, along with frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, handling, reaching, and lifting.
