Job Overview

The Hunton Group is seeking a highly skilled Building Automation System (BAS) Controls Installer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for the installation, diagnosis, and repair of environmental-comfort systems, utilizing your knowledge of air conditioning theory, hydronic theory, and modern control techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and service products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to industry standards.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools and laptop computers to install, diagnose, repair, and program HVAC equipment, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
  • Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work as necessary.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and well-maintained.
  • Maintain equipment by inspecting for signs of wear, maladjustment, miscalibration, malfunction, and drift.
  • Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining accurate files.
  • Represent the company as a direct customer contact, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Support HVAC Field Technicians by providing field support and expertise.
  • Utilize project plans to prioritize and schedule work, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Determine parts to order for repairs and ensure timely delivery.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong technical and mathematical aptitude, with a solid understanding of HVAC systems and control techniques.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and programming, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Mobility within the office and on construction job sites, with a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Able to travel locally as required, with a flexible schedule and willingness to work varying shifts.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, trade schools, or certificates in a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience installing and servicing/repairing BAS systems and/or electrical systems, with a strong background in HVAC theory and control techniques.
