Job Overview

Position Summary: The Offshore Subsea Controls Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the assembly, testing, and operation of subsea production control systems and associated equipment. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and quality standards while working in both onshore and offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation to effectively assemble and operate equipment.
  • Conduct assembly, testing, and operational procedures for subsea control systems, including drilling control HPUs and chemical injection units, adhering to industry specifications.
  • Prioritize safety during all operational tasks and participate in safety and quality observation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with quality processes and documentation standards.
  • Perform maintenance and operational support for rental equipment in various settings.
  • Execute fluid analysis on control fluids and chemicals as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design discrepancies, providing suggestions for improvements.
  • Complete essential documentation, including progress reports and non-conformance reports.
  • Engage with clients during operations, service, and testing phases.
  • Develop test procedures and maintenance manuals according to customer and industry standards.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hydraulic topside and subsea control systems.
  • At least 2 years in an offshore service technician role.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical training in electrical systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in assembly and testing of hydraulic power units and subsea distribution equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Offshore safety certifications are mandatory.
  • Competence in using computers and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Additional PPE may be necessary based on specific offshore locations.

Work Environment:

  • This position is primarily based in a dynamic work environment with global offshore locations.
