Role Overview
The Inventory Audit Analyst plays a crucial role within the Analytics Team, tasked with verifying and ensuring the precision of data sourced from the Cultivation, Processing, and Supply Chain sectors. The primary objective of this position is to maintain inventory accuracy across various systems (including METRC, Dynamics NAV, and Leaf Trade) and our internal Google Sheets through both physical and digital reconciliation. Additionally, the Inventory Audit Analyst will assist in upholding accurate digital records in METRC, MJ Freeway, CounterPoint, and LeafLink across different operational states as required. This role also involves validating the accuracy of data input by other departments and supporting any necessary reporting functions. A keen attention to detail and a solid understanding of Dynamics NAV, CounterPoint, state seed-to-sale systems, Google Sheets, and Excel are essential for success in this position. Regular and effective communication with Analytics, Cultivation, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Processing management, as well as team members across these departments, is expected. The Inventory Audit Analyst must adhere to the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Auditing Duties
- Conduct cycle counts of finished goods in NAV to compare with physical inventory and data within METRC.
- Perform cycle counts of raw materials in NAV and Google Sheets to verify quantities on hand.
- Execute physical audits of work-in-progress materials to ensure accurate data in internal tracking systems.
- Carry out digital audits of products to align data from internal inventory systems with state seed-to-sale tracking systems.
- Assist in verifying plant counts.
- Ensure accuracy of data uploads to Leaf Trade for online menu integrity.
- Document and track cycle count results to maintain a record of inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies to identify root causes.
- Prepare for and assist with year-end third-party inventory audits.
- Support resolution of Analytics support tickets.
- Assist with digital inventory reconciliations in other operational states.
- Generate reports in METRC, Biotrack, MJ Freeway, CounterPoint, and NAV regarding plant counts, on-hand inventory, and raw materials.
- Compile and cleanse data to report on various activities across multiple departments as assigned.
- Ensure adherence to all state and federal regulations.
- Document workflows and procedures, ensuring appropriate controls and audits are in place for data integrity.
- Provide coverage in other regions and departments within Analytics.
- Occasionally assist with data entry tasks.
- Create manifests and transfers in METRC, Biotrack, MJ Freeway, and Dynamics NAV as needed.
- Utilize data to identify growth opportunities.
- Assist the Audit Manager in training team members on commonly used processes.
- Reports directly to the Audit Manager and receives direction from Analytics Manager(s).
- This position does not involve supervising others.
Experience
- One to three years of data entry experience is required.
- Intermediate proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Excel is essential.
- Experience with METRC, Biotrack, or MJ Freeway is preferred.
- Prior experience with Dynamics NAV, CounterPoint, or similar inventory systems is advantageous.
- Data analysis experience is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and FIFO adherence is required.
- Familiarity with state and federal employment laws relevant to the role is beneficial.
- Must obtain appropriate work credentials from the relevant State Licensing Authority in all operational states.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
