Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide essential administrative assistance to the General Assembly and Human Rights (GAHR) section, while also serving as the Executive Assistant to the General Assembly Ambassador. This role is integral to the UK Mission's efforts in managing UN General Assembly affairs and advancing human rights initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive administrative support to the GA and Human Rights teams, including information management, briefing preparation, and managing the UK Mission's shared inbox and correspondence.
- Assist the GA Ambassador with diary management and provide basic secretarial support as needed, while also supporting other senior staff during busy periods.
- Coordinate logistics for incoming visits from UK Ministers and senior officials, including setting up programs and arranging catering.
- Oversee office management tasks for UKMIS sections, including budget planning and monitoring, and managing office supplies.
- Support the team during peak periods, particularly in preparation for significant UN events such as the General Assembly High-Level Week and the Commission on the Status of Women.
- Assist in creating and updating forward-looking documents for the GA team.
- Provide coverage for other administrative team members as necessary, including flexible hours when required.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in a relevant administrative role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven organizational abilities, with a focus on managing multiple tasks and a keen attention to detail.
- A collaborative team player, eager to assist colleagues across various sections.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with the UN system is advantageous but not mandatory.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required.
