POSITION SUMMARY


Oversees and directs the Mechanical Engineering team in the upkeep, enhancement, and servicing of all mechanical apparatus and electrical systems.

Ensures a secure and effective environment for all patrons and staff.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; 3 years' experience in mechanical facilities upkeep, operations oversight, or a related professional field.
OR

  • 2-year graduate degree in Engineering; 2 years' experience in mechanical facilities upkeep, operations oversight, or a related professional field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing Mechanical Operations

  • Administers the cogeneration, energy management, and mechanical systems to optimize utility savings.
  • Assists in managing the departmental budget.
  • Tracks work orders and preventative maintenance to ensure tasks are completed and documented accurately.
  • Conducts regular inspections and ensures that preventative maintenance initiatives are executed.

Leading the Electrical Engineering Team

  • Evaluates the performance of the Mechanical Engineering personnel.
  • Creates weekly staff schedules and project timelines.
  • Designs and implements training programs for the Mechanical Engineering team.
  • Confirms that all team members can effectively operate area-specific systems.
  • Ensures compliance of the Mechanical Engineering team with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and safety protocols.
  • Acts as the Manager on Duty (MOD) for the entire Engineering division.

Human Resources Management Activities

  • Conducts interviews, selects, and trains new staff members.
  • Evaluates employee productivity and efficiency for potential promotions or other status changes.
  • Ensures the safety and security of employees and property.
  • Monitors employee attendance and records instances of absence or tardiness.
  • Guides supervisors in achieving their developmental objectives.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations with direct reports in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
The salary range for this position is $73,000 to $96,000 annually.
