Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Great Lakes. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care by accurately registering and verifying patient information, obtaining pre-authorizations, and making financial arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients for all services, including emergency room, outpatient, inpatient, observation, and same-day surgery
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits, and obtain pre-authorizations as needed
  • Make financial arrangements with patients, including collecting co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers
  • Work closely with clinical partners to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • One year or more of relevant healthcare experience preferred
  • Prior collections experience preferred
  • One or more years of customer service experience preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
