As a Patient Access Specialist, Evening Shift, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients at AdventHealth. Your primary responsibility will be to register patients for all services, including emergency room, outpatient, inpatient, observation, and same-day surgery. You will also be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining pre-authorizations, and making financial arrangements. Your excellent communication skills and attention to detail will enable you to provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities- Registers patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and completeness of demographic and insurance information
- Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains pre-authorizations as required
- Makes financial arrangements with patients, including collecting co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
- Provides timely and accurate information to patients regarding their financial responsibility
- Collaborates with clinical partners to ensure seamless communication and efficient registration process
- Meets or exceeds productivity standards and accuracy rates
- High school degree or equivalent required
- One year or more of relevant healthcare experience preferred
- Prior collections experience preferred
- One or more years of customer service experience preferred
- Associate's degree preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
