Athletic Trainer Outreach Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer Outreach to provide day-to-day athletic training services for our local sports team. The successful candidate will assess, treat, and develop rehabilitation and reconditioning strategies for athletes, as well as design and implement prevention and education programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic training services for our sports team, including assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries
  • Develop and implement prevention and education programs to promote athlete health and safety
  • Collaborate with team physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for athletes
  • Maintain licensure and certification requirements, including CPR certification
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and reporting to management
Requirements
  • Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Current CPR certification
  • 2+ years of experience in athletic training, preferably in a sports medicine setting
  • Bachelor's degree in a specialized curriculum accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education
Working Conditions

The Athletic Trainer Outreach will work in a fast-paced orthopedic medical practice environment, with occasional night or early morning hours and possible overnight stays. The successful candidate must be able to adjust and adapt to changing conditions and handle high amounts of stress.

This job requires the ability to safely administer prescribed medications, including topical corticosteroids, topical lidocaine, and other Schedule VI topical drugs. The successful candidate must also be able to handle emergency situations, including anaphylactic shock and overdose reversal.
