Athletic Trainer

The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for developing and implementing injury prevention programs for athletic teams, providing initial treatment and management of injuries to student-athletes, and coordinating and supervising a student athletic trainer program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in athletic training and be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC).
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement injury prevention programs for athletic teams
- Provide initial treatment and management of injuries to student-athletes
- Coordinate and supervise a student athletic trainer program
- Communicate and coordinate with physicians, coaches, and other school and medical personnel
- Assist patients with management of pain and swelling
- Clean and maintain equipment used to render treatment to patients
- Consult with coaches on health maintenance, injury prevention, and equipment selection
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation Services
- Counsel athletes on conditions, test results, and prognoses
- Education of student athletic trainers as needed
- Graduate of an accredited program in Athletic Training
- Certified by the Board of Certification (BOC)
- Licensed by the State of Indiana and Ohio if applicable
- Active CPR certification
- Strong knowledge and skills in athletic training and injury prevention
- Ability to relate to others using tact, mature judgment, and understanding
- Organized and proactive in meeting patient and other customer needs
