Overview

The selected candidate will function as an Environmental Compliance Analyst within the Environmental Policy Division of the Office of Environment and Energy. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to environmental laws, regulations, executive orders, and objectives established by the Department of Transportation, particularly concerning the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will undertake a variety of complex tasks with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include:
  • Providing expert support in formulating agency-wide policies and guidelines regarding NEPA and related environmental regulations.
  • Utilizing advanced technical expertise to address intricate environmental review challenges.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance environmental compliance processes.
  • Preparing management reports and technical documentation to communicate project outcomes to relevant parties.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H, FG/GS-12 level, including:
  • Experience in drafting official correspondence and preparing presentations for senior management.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis, particularly using data visualization tools and GIS for environmental documentation.
  • Knowledge of environmental laws and policies applicable to civil aviation.

Conditions of Employment
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after December 31, 1959.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
