Job Summary

Vectrus is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting Government facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental regulations and compliance, with experience in drafting policy statements, standard operating procedures, and other communications regarding current and future environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting Government facilities
• Draft policy statements, standard operating procedures, and other communications regarding current and future environmental regulations
• Develop and/or review applicable environmental compliance and management plans
• Review National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation and provide Facilities' project managers advice on NEPA applicability
• Provide technical environmental regulatory assistance and guidance to facilitate environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Conduct environmental compliance inspections/audits/evaluations as directed by the Government to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Presidential Executive Orders
• Update and monitor environmental regulatory permits held by the Government
• Develop and conduct environmental compliance training for Government employees and contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or engineering
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain an International Driver's License
• Current, adjudicated, and active TS/SCI security clearance with Poly
• Five (5) years' of related experience
• Nationally recognized environmental credential desired (Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Professional Engineer (PE))
• Experience working in a Government-designated war zone and knowledge of sound program management techniques

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to analyze, prioritize, and problem solve effectively
• Strong written and oral communication skills, especially ability to brief senior officials
• Strong leadership, project management, team building, and presentation skills
• Possess knowledge, skills, and abilities in areas of logistics management, facility management, supply, transportation, traffic management, vehicle maintenance, facility maintenance, facility management, warehouse management, janitorial support services, etc.

Other Requirements

• Travel to and through various CONUS and OCONUS locations, often to remote, austere, remote permissive, non-permissive environments
• Work in an operationally-sensitive environment
• Perform tasks outside during any weather condition for long periods of time
• Operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine, and printer
• Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more
• Work well in team environments, including demonstrating the ability to function independently with minimal supervision
