Social Services Director for Family Support

The Diocese of St. Augustine is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Services Director for Family Support to lead our team at the Divine Mercy House. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and education to our residents, helping them to achieve their personal and professional goals.

This is a full-time position that requires a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, with previous experience in caregiving and a strong background in Abuse Registry, criminal record checks, and drug testing.

As Social Services Director for Family Support, you will oversee the daily operations of the house, ensuring that all residents receive the necessary support and resources to thrive. Your duties will include:

General Administrative

  • Developing and presenting weekly and monthly progress evaluations of residents.
  • Coordinating and delegating volunteer activities under the supervision of the Executive Director.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of a strategic plan as it relates to Social Services Director duties.
  • Assisting the Executive Director in reviewing financial expenditures.
  • Acting as a liaison between residents and the Executive Director.

House Operations

  • Assisting the Executive Director with the intake and discharge of clients or program participants.
  • Implementing house programs and operation policies, including the enforcement of said policies and regulations among staff, residents, and volunteers.
  • Developing a system whereby behavioral situations are discussed and/or resolved in group meetings.
  • Organizing and conducting resident meetings to facilitate good communication and cooperation among those living and volunteering in the home.
  • Developing a daily/weekly chore schedule to be implemented by the residents, ensuring the cleanliness of the home.
  • Enforcing curfew requirements.
  • Conducting regular safety and security checks.

Education and Care of Residents

  • Implementing the house plan for education, physical, and spiritual development for each resident, under the direction of the Executive Director.
  • Assisting the Executive Director with individual and group counseling activities for residents.
  • Coordinating all medical care for residents and their children, including transportation to and from appointments, health and nutrition needs, and special medical needs if required.
  • Helping residents obtain social service programs, such as medical care, food stamps, TANF/Cash Assistance, childcare, and subsidized housing.
  • Ensuring all residents' needs are met, finding and providing necessities for residents when needed.
  • Providing guidance and encouragement to residents regarding social behavior, mealtime etiquette, and on-the-job behavior.
  • Providing strong moral and spiritual leadership.

As Social Services Director for Family Support, you will receive a competitive annual salary of $50,000, with a resident incentive bonus after 90 days. The position requires Monday-Friday availability, with occasional weekend fill-ins as needed.
