Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family and Community Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance processes for Head Start/Early Head Start programs.
  • Facilitate parent engagement and provide high-quality health, mental health, nutrition support, and resource linkage services.
  • Build partnerships with families to assist them in identifying their own goals, strengths, needed services, and support systems.
  • Develop and implement family partnership agreements that outline families' strategies and timetables for achieving their own goals.
  • Manage and recordkeeping of family comprehensive files, including tracking family partnership efforts and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Human Services or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience working with children and families in a social services environment, with Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR within three months of hire date.
  • Successful completion of a Level II background screening and drug screening prior to hiring.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages present in the local area.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of social work and human behavior.
  • Knowledge of human development and health.
  • Knowledge of social services and health services available in the area.
