Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maternal Fetal Sonography Specialist to join our team at Inova Health System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for administering high-quality patient care practices, completing ancillary tasks, and maintaining equipment and work areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical maternal-fetal history and informed consent, and assist physicians in optimizing examination performance and interpretation.
  • Provide Clinical Services: Provide clinical services according to specialized maternal fetal ultrasound practice standards to detect fetal anomalies, and act as a resource to students, nurses, fellows, and other technologists.
  • Maintain Equipment and Work Areas: Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure patient and employee safety.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program and Cervical Length Assessment Program, and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology certification.
  • Licensure: None required.
  • Experience: Two years of hospital or doctor's office-based experience in the performance of specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Ultrasonography or a Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound school with a specialty of five plus years on-the-job training in a hospital performing specialized sonograms.
