Key Responsibilities

- Effectively communicate with patients to gather clinical maternal-fetal history and informed consent, aiding physicians in optimizing examination performance and interpretation.

- Explain procedures to patients and families, addressing any concerns to enhance cooperation and satisfaction.

- Assist physicians in performing specialized procedures such as TEE, Amniocentesis, and AV optimization studies while adhering to departmental protocols.

- Demonstrate proficiency in sterile techniques and isolation precautions relevant to specialty procedures.

- Recognize and address clinical or emergent issues in maternal-fetal patients, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Certification: ARDMS required, Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start; completion of Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program and Cervical Length Assessment Program for new hires.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years in a hospital or doctor's office setting specializing in maternal-fetal sonography.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Ultrasonography; graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program with extensive on-the-job training.
