We are seeking a highly skilled Maternal Fetal Sonography Specialist to join our team at Inova Fairfax Medical Center. As a key member of our Perinatal Sonography department, you will be responsible for administering sound patient care practices, completing ancillary tasks, and maintaining equipment and exam rooms in a neat and safe condition.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical maternal-fetal history and informed consent to assist physicians in optimizing examination performance and interpretation.
- Assist Physicians: Assist physicians in performing CVS, Amniocentesis, and image optimization studies using departmental protocols to provide optimum results.
- Demonstrate Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of proper sterile techniques and isolation precautions as they pertain to specialty procedures.
- Recognize Clinical Problems: Recognize clinical and/or emergent problems in maternal-fetal patients that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Start, Successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program and Cervical Length Assessment Program for new hires.
- Licensure: None required.
- Experience: Two years of hospital or doctor's office-based experience in the performance of specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies.
- Education: Associate's Degree in Ultrasonography, A Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound school with a specialty of five plus years on-the-job training in a hospital performing specialized sonograms.
