Job Summary

The Mercer County Administration is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Services Deputy Director to join our team. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong understanding of human services programs and the ability to supervise a large team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of human services professionals
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to address community needs
  • Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to identify and respond to community needs
  • Provide excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to problem solve with decisive decision making
  • Ability to interact and maintain a good rapport with the public, co-workers, supervisors, elected officials, and community leaders
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, multitask and proficiently manage time and resources
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use or quickly learn work-specific technologies
  • Flexibility and willingness to accept changes in priorities, as necessary
Requirements
  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in the administration and/or planning, organization and coordination of human services programs including supervision of staff
  • OR possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional experience
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license
Working Conditions

Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Salary range: $84,439 - $130,507, commensurate with experience.
