Overall Purpose:

The Senior Systems and Software Analyst plays a crucial role in leading and collaborating with product and project teams. Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, data networking, or a related field is required (equivalent experience, certifications, or degrees will be considered).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience is required, including work in both traditional (waterfall) and agile software delivery environments, as well as integration and implementation of vendor applications.
  • Certifications in relevant technical areas are preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, demonstrating sound technical judgment under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience with SQL, Perl, Python, shell scripting, and Oracle/SQL Server databases is advantageous.
  • Experience in electric utility metering or billing is a plus.

Scope:

This role primarily focuses on daily deliverables, outcomes, and reporting. The individual is typically responsible for managing their own time and workflow, with work activities that are moderate to complex, requiring the application of previous knowledge. While the individual continues to build their knowledge base, they possess a solid foundation to act independently most of the time, seeking guidance from experts and managers as needed.

Decision Impact:

Challenges faced are often ambiguous, requiring the individual to draw on past experiences regularly. The role entails accountability for direct reasoning and decision-making.

Hybrid Work Model:

This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, with the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may vary based on departmental needs.

Storm Roles:

All Non-Union Employees may be assigned storm roles based on their skills and responsibilities. It is important to discuss potential storm roles with the hiring manager, as duties may vary across the organization.

Utilize data effectively to inform business decisions as appropriate for the role, support data stewardship initiatives, and collaborate with IT on underlying data requirements.
