Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Good Samaritan Medical Center. As a PACU Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth transition for patients from the operating room to the recovery area.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect specialized nursing care to patients in the PACU
  • Coordinate patient care and advocate for patients throughout the post-operative experience
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Florida R.N. licensure
  • Basic Life Support
  • ACLS
  • PALS (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience as a PACU nurse
  • One year of experience in ICU/ER
Physical Requirements
  • Requires walking and standing during most of the time on duty
  • Frequent reaching, handling of instruments and equipment
  • Speaking and hearing essential for relaying of information, receiving doctors orders
  • Visual acuity required to work with records and equipment
  • Frequently lifting 30-50 pounds
  • Works beyond scheduled tour of duty in an emergency
  • Maintains a state of health adequate to perform the duties of the job
  • Possible contact to moving mechanical parts
  • Required to make decisions and concentrate - continuously
  • Exposure to temperature extremes - moderate
  • Work environment lighting and noise - varies
  • Exposed to stressful and traumatic situations
  • Exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals - varies
