Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Good Samaritan Medical Center. As a PACU Nurse, you will provide direct and indirect specialized nursing care to patients after receiving anesthetic agents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care and serve as the patient advocate throughout the post-operative experience.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Florida R.N. licensure
  • Basic Life Support
  • ACLS
  • PALS (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year as a PACU nurse
  • One year with ICU/ER experience
Physical Requirements
  • Requires walking and standing during most of the time on duty.
  • Frequent reaching, handling of instruments and equipment.
  • Speaking and hearing essential for relaying of information, receiving doctors orders.
  • Visual acuity required to work with records and equipment.
  • Frequently lifting 30-50 pounds.
  • Works beyond scheduled tour of duty in an emergency.
  • Maintains a state of health adequate to perform the duties of the job.
  • Possible contact to moving mechanical parts.
  • Required to make decisions and concentrate – continuously.
  • Exposure to temperature extremes – moderate.
  • Work environment lighting and noise - varies.
  • Exposed to stressful and traumatic situations.
  • Exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals – varies.
