Job Title: Senior Geoscientist/Geologist and Project Manager

Tetra Tech is seeking a senior-level geoscientist/geologist with project management experience to join our team. As a key member of our environmental consulting group, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing projects related to mining, abandoned mine reclamation, oil and gas, brownfields, and renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project management of projects with geological and/or geotechnical components
  • Oversight of projects and staff completing field activities, including drill inspection and logging, sampling, and data collection and analysis
  • Interaction with state and federal agencies personnel
  • Preparation of geological and geotechnical reports, including maps, charts, and cross-sections
  • Operation of computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and geologic or geotechnical software
  • Field testing using equipment and instrumentation
  • Preparation of detailed reports for internal use and external clients
  • Review and preparation of field reports, internal correspondence, and regulatory reporting
  • Overseeing subcontractors and/or other company employees in the field
  • Preparation of health and safety plans and job hazard analyses
  • Contacting vendors for product information and/or quotes
  • Researching technical papers and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Geology with 20+ years of experience
  • Registration as a Professional Geologist in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
  • Registration in other states a plus
  • OSHA-40 hour HAZWOPER training required
  • MSHA Part 48 certification beneficial but not required
  • Demonstrated ability in conducting or overseeing field data collection and analysis and technical writing capability
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in environmental consulting or related experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication/interpersonal skills
  • Additional qualifications such as OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Certification and First Aid/CPR/AED training viewed favorably
  • Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations required
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record without restrictions
