Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Building Engineer to oversee operations at a prominent healthcare facility in the Palo Alto area. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation, repair, and maintenance of essential building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the operation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, including air handling units, pumps, and heat exchangers.
  2. Conduct installations of electrical circuits and perform repairs on plumbing fixtures.
  3. Safely isolate systems to enable necessary repairs.
  4. Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks, including filter changes and lubrication of equipment.
  5. Respond to service calls and address emergency situations effectively.
  6. Document inspections and maintenance activities, providing reports to management.
  7. Perform additional duties as required within the scope of the role.

Qualifications:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in operating central building systems, including HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Proven skills in repairing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience in safely securing systems for maintenance purposes.
  • Ability to perform basic carpentry and plumbing tasks.
  • Strong understanding of building auxiliary systems, including emergency generators and UPS systems.
  • Familiarity with general building systems, such as vertical lifts and overhead doors.
  • Competence in following written and verbal instructions and performing basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices in maintenance operations.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
  • Preferred experience in a healthcare environment.

Physical Requirements:
The role requires physical stamina to perform various tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Candidates must be able to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally move heavier items.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate ranging from $51.00 to $53.00.
