Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team at Federal Signal. As a key member of our operations department, you will collaborate with our design and production team to determine the manufacturability of new products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Production Supervisor, and Group leaders to ensure manufacturability of new products
  • Program and troubleshoot PCB equipment, automation, robotics, and various technology in the facility
  • Determine, specify, and implement necessary tooling, facilities, fixturing processes, and production equipment required for manufacturing
  • Conduct Value Analysis on existing products and develop process and assembly improvements
  • Propose and implement approaches to design and development of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and Plant/Work Center layout
  • Balances line production based on sales/marketing requirements and evaluates production performance against router times
  • Assists Design and Test Engineering and specifies necessary equipment for testing
  • Instructs and trains supervisors and group leaders on proper operation of production machinery and equipment
  • Develops teams to investigate and resolve routine production problems
  • Conducts Cost/Router/Material Usage Audits as required by Cost Accounting/Marketing
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering
  • CAD/CAM experience
  • Microcomputer proficiency in major packages
  • A minimum of three to five years experience in a manufacturing work environment preferred
