Job Title: Dietary Director

Willow Springs Healthcare Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Director to lead our food service team.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct and participate in food preparation and service to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Maintain cost and work to meet budget guidelines while planning and assisting in preparation and service of holiday and special meals and functions.
  • Direct and supervise all dietary functions and personnel, including hiring, orienting, training, disciplining, and terminating employees as necessary.
  • Assure proper storage and handling of food and supplies comply with current state and federal guidelines.
  • Process new diet orders and diet changes, and keep diet cards updated.
  • Maintain sufficient staff to provide dietary services to the facility.
  • Assess resident food preferences and allergies, and prepare dietary staff schedules and address schedule changes.
  • Maintain kitchen and food storage area in a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary manner.
  • Transmit orders for appropriate food and supplies, and document and notify the dietician of menu changes.
  • Participate in QA and IDT meetings as assigned, and check trays for accuracy before delivery.
  • Inspect the Dietary Department regularly to ensure it is safe and sanitary, and plan and present in-service education programs for the Dietary Department.
  • Investigate on-the-job injuries and correct the problem or retrain employees as necessary, and ensure continued compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain the security of the Dietary Department, and coordinate dietary services with nursing services and activities director.
  • Complete nutritional notes monthly for all residents at nutritional risk, and visit all residents to conduct nutritional assessments and screenings, explain diets, record food preferences, and promote quality food service.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an approved dietary manager's course that meets state and federal care regulations.
  • CDM License/Certification.
