Position Summary:

The initial focus will be on the design of assembly fixtures and jigs, along with the creation of testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  2. Design and develop manufacturing jigs, tools, fixtures, and methods to align with engineering specifications and promote efficient production.
  3. Coordinate priorities for tools, jigs, and fixtures to optimize the manufacturing of devices and components.
  4. Define assembly processes and sequences, ensuring the adequacy of manufacturing documentation.
  5. Provide training to operators and technicians on the processes and procedures established by engineering.
  6. Prepare project requests that detail engineering work costs, parts lists, bills of material, and timelines, while monitoring project expenses to ensure budget compliance.
  7. Support manufacturing and production processes by resolving design and production challenges and facilitating the transition from development to production.
  8. Evaluate product designs and engineering prototypes, recommending design modifications to enhance producibility.
  9. Guide methods to maximize overall assembly operation efficiency.
  10. Maintain communication with vendors and interfacing departments to efficiently resolve producibility issues.
  11. Utilize ERP systems to develop process flows and routing steps.
  12. Create work cell layouts, encompassing tooling and work areas.
  13. Assist in instructing and mentoring entry-level manufacturing engineers.
  14. Collaborate with engineering technicians to troubleshoot and finalize prototypes.
  15. Develop and/or refine testing procedures.
  16. Establish project schedules and lead integrated project teams on smaller initiatives.
  17. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract stipulations.

Qualifications:

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Lean/Six-Sigma green belt certification or higher.
  • Training in RCCA procedures.
  • Experience in electrical assembly, including reading electrical schematics and processes like soldering and cable manufacturing.
  • Experience with Department of Defense and government contract work.
