Job Title: Assistant Vice President, Allied Healthcare Underwriter

Job Summary:

The Assistant Vice President, Allied Healthcare Underwriter will be responsible for the profitable growth of an assigned book of business, utilizing underwriting policies and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations. This includes understanding pricing components and rating methodology, as well as the use of predictive modeling tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use internal and external data to make appropriate individual and portfolio risk decisions.
  • Responsible for the profitable growth of an assigned book of business.
  • Underwrite Miscellaneous Healthcare, including Healthcare Professional Liability, General Liability, and other ancillary lines for primary, Umbrella, and Excess risks.
  • Evaluate all individual risk characteristics and properly determine capacity, attachment point, terms, and pricing.
  • Foster and utilize expertise within the company, including claims, actuarial, and business development.
  • Maintain and enhance existing broker relationships, as well as identify and develop new relationships within the Southeast region with both retail and wholesale partners.
  • Drive effective relationship management and customer activities to build trust, facilitate negotiation, and secure commitment with the customer.
  • Proactively identify cross-sell opportunities and partner with other underwriters to deliver comprehensive insurance solutions for the customer.
Requirements:
  • Established relationships with Retail and Wholesale brokers.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Healthcare Professional Underwriting experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
