The role of the Maintenance Trades Helper involves performing essential labor tasks, operating support machinery, and assisting skilled workers in completing non-technical assignments related to operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Providing technicians with necessary materials and tools.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of workspaces, tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Executing basic tasks as instructed by technicians.
  • Adapting job responsibilities in response to contractual obligations.
  • Operating vehicles and material handling equipment as required.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned to achieve organizational goals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work may occur in adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity, as well as in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic substances, and high noise levels may occur.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary, including face masks.
  • Specific educational and experiential requirements may apply based on contractual obligations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Job entails bending, climbing, prolonged standing, sitting, and occasional work in cramped or awkward positions.
  • Standard work schedule consists of 40 hours per week (5 days).
  • Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required based on mission needs.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Specific educational and experiential criteria may apply based on contractual obligations.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is mandatory.
  • A valid State Driver's License with no restrictions is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) is necessary.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or U.S. Passport, is required.
  • Maintenance of driving privileges on relevant military installations is necessary.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of safety protocols and compliance with OSHA regulations is essential.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a relevant trade is preferred.
  • Attributes such as reliability, attention to detail, punctuality, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team is required.
  • Capability to comprehend and execute instructions provided in English (written, oral, or diagrammatic form) is necessary.
  • Professional interaction with colleagues and clients is expected.
  • Productive collaboration with other staff members is essential.
  • Familiarity with automotive maintenance trades is preferred.
