The Maintenance Trades Helper is responsible for performing general labor tasks, operating support machinery, and assisting skilled workers in fulfilling non-technical duties related to assigned projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis job description may be updated as necessary to align with program or organizational needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Providing technicians with necessary materials and tools.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Executing entry-level tasks as instructed by technicians.
- Adjusting job responsibilities based on contractual obligations.
- Operating vehicles and material handling equipment as required.
- Carrying out additional tasks as assigned to achieve operational goals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work may occur in adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity, as well as in confined spaces and at heights.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic substances, and loud noises may occur.
- Personal Protective Equipment, such as face masks, may be necessary.
- Specific educational and experiential requirements may apply based on contractual obligations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Job entails stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, sitting, and occasionally working in cramped or awkward positions.
- Standard work schedule is 40 hours per week (5 days).
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required based on mission needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Specific educational and experiential requirements may apply based on contractual obligations.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is mandatory.
- A valid State Driver's License with no restrictions is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship is necessary, such as a birth certificate or U.S. Passport.
- Maintaining driving privileges may be required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of safety protocols and ability to perform tasks in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Preferred minimum of one (1) year of experience in a trade.
- Must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, punctuality, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Capability to comprehend and execute instructions provided in English (written, oral, or diagrammatic).
- Professional interaction with colleagues and clients is essential.
- Experience or familiarity with automotive maintenance trades is advantageous.
