The Maintenance Trades Helper is responsible for performing general labor tasks, operating support machinery, and assisting skilled workers in fulfilling non-technical duties related to assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Providing technicians with necessary materials and tools.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Executing entry-level tasks as instructed by technicians.
  • Adjusting job responsibilities based on contractual obligations.
  • Operating vehicles and material handling equipment as required.
  • Carrying out additional tasks as assigned to achieve operational goals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work may occur in adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity, as well as in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic substances, and loud noises may occur.
  • Personal Protective Equipment, such as face masks, may be necessary.
  • Specific educational and experiential requirements may apply based on contractual obligations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Job entails stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, sitting, and occasionally working in cramped or awkward positions.
  • Standard work schedule is 40 hours per week (5 days).
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required based on mission needs.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Specific educational and experiential requirements may apply based on contractual obligations.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is mandatory.
  • A valid State Driver's License with no restrictions is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is necessary, such as a birth certificate or U.S. Passport.
  • Maintaining driving privileges may be required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of safety protocols and ability to perform tasks in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Preferred minimum of one (1) year of experience in a trade.
  • Must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, punctuality, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Capability to comprehend and execute instructions provided in English (written, oral, or diagrammatic).
  • Professional interaction with colleagues and clients is essential.
  • Experience or familiarity with automotive maintenance trades is advantageous.
