Dialysis Nurse Coordinator

The Dialysis Coordinator (RN) is responsible for delivering safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the scope of practice, directing and guiding patient/family teaching, and overseeing the activities of other nursing personnel within the Inpatient Renal Care Unit. The Dialysis Coordinator (RN) is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients, communicating effectively with physicians about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching
• Oversee the activities of other nursing personnel
• Communicate effectively with physicians about patient care
Qualifications:
• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate
• Maintains acquired knowledge and remains current in advancements in nephrology
• Certification in Nephrology Nursing or Apheresis Nursing is highly encouraged
• Two Years Experience in Acute Care Hemodialysis nursing
