Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Principal Service Solutions. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for performing on-site service and repair of semiconductor processing equipment, troubleshooting equipment problems, and maintaining records and reports as required.

This is a full-time position with full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and paid holidays. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site service and repair of semiconductor processing equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Maintain records and reports as required
  • Coordinate activities with peers, supervisor(s), and customers to minimize equipment downtime and interruptions
  • Order and install parts
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required
  • Instruct customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance
  • Perform upgrades and modifications to equipment as needed
  • Remain current on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, factory periodicals, and other relevant materials

Requirements:

  • 0 years of previous experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment (for entry level)
  • Previous experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment for all other levels
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use appropriate tools
  • Understanding of technical issues involving the maintenance, repair, and installation of company equipment and company procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking ability
  • High levels of professionalism and customer interface skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • MS Office and excellent communication skills

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 80% of the time for domestic or occasional international travel
  • Travel assignment duration can vary, but candidates will be allowed to travel home every 6-8 weeks on average, dependent upon workload
  • Approved travel expenses paid
  • Shifts will be predominantly day shift but may vary subject to customers' demands and requirements

Educational Requirements:

  • Associates degree in electronics, engineering, or other applicable field of study; Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology preferred
  • Military service in relevant technical role will be considered in lieu of formal education

Pay Rate:

  • Entry: $28.00/hr to $30.00/hr
  • FSE 1: $30.00/hr to $31.50/hr
  • FSE 2: $31.50/hr to $33.00/hr
  • FSE 3: $33.00/hr to $35.00/hr
  • FSE 4: $36.00/hr plus DOE
