Job Title: Patient Service Coordinator

The Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly skilled Patient Service Coordinator to join our team at the JH Center for Sleep and Wellness. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to ensure a positive experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen and triage patient calls to the appropriate resources
  • Schedule patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations, procedures, and admissions
  • Resolve schedule conflicts and coordinate visits within the department or between multiple departments
  • Verify and enter pre-registration and insurance information into the computer system
  • Assist patients or family members with completion of medical insurance forms
  • Answer phones and provide routine information to callers
  • Respond to medical records requests and scan medical records documents into the electronic medical records system
  • Collect time of service payments, issue receipts, and prepare cash settlement records as required
  • Discuss patient charges with patients and/or patients' families and refer to appropriate office for financial counseling if necessary
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Certification/registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g., CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required
  • One year work experience in customer/patient service required
  • Current CPR certification required
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
