The Financial Operations Associate plays a crucial role in managing fundamental accounting activities, including monthly closings, asset management, reconciliations, and both accounts payable and receivable tasks. This position is full-time and requires in-person attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record monthly journal entries accurately.
- Handle accounts payable tasks such as cost verification, credit application, and system entry.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and analyze monthly loan documentation, ensuring reconciliation with ledger balances, including account funding transfers.
- Access daily banking information through the bank's online platform.
- Generate and assess variance reports for precision and investigate discrepancies as necessary.
- Process daily cash deposits efficiently.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts, including deductions, credits, allowances, and violations.
- Coordinate with the Sales department regarding vendor allowances and outstanding accounts receivable issues.
- Organize and prepare for monthly stewardship meetings with management.
- Conduct general ledger account reconciliations.
- Propose process enhancements that align with company objectives.
- Undertake additional duties or special projects as required.
Qualifications:
A minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required, along with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Candidates should possess one to three years of accounting experience, including general ledger closing, reconciliations, and processing accounts payable/receivable. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, are essential. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team are also required.
