Job Title: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to join our team at Michigan Medicine. As a key member of our Patient Food and Nutrition Services department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional nutrition care to our patients.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting nutrition assessments, developing personalized nutrition care plans, and providing evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to adult inpatients, including surgery and critical care patients. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and participate in daily rounds to discuss patient progress and develop effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough nutrition assessments and develop comprehensive nutrition care plans for adult inpatients
  • Provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy, including enteral and parenteral nutrition, to patients with complex nutritional needs
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely nutrition care
  • Participate in daily rounds to discuss patient progress and develop effective treatment plans
  • Rotate as work group team leader and contribute to the training and orientation of new employees
  • Accurately report productivity and time study data as required
  • Contribute to caseload smoothing within and among Registered Dietitian Nutritionist teams
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college
  • Completion of an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and a Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CP)
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with active registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • At least one year of work experience with medical nutrition therapy and nutrition support therapy for adult inpatients
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Nutrition-related field
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
  • Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC)
  • Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO)
  • Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR)
  • Certified Specialist in Pediatrics (CSP)
