Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Campus Security Officer to join our team at Exeter. As a key member of our safety and security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the protection of our academy buildings and the personal safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a Visible Presence: Maintain a pleasant demeanor while providing a presence in main hub areas, main entrances, and parking areas of administrative buildings and athletic facilities.
  • Assist Visitors: Provide directions and access to assigned areas of the campus, ensuring that visitors, spectators, and participants are in their appropriate areas.
  • Ensure Facility Security: Prohibit unauthorized access to areas not reserved or open to the public, and assist in securing facilities when necessary.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Respond to any situation that threatens the safety or security of people, buildings, or facilities, and assist with emergencies by calling the town police and campus safety when necessary.
  • Perform Administrative Tasks: Prepare written reports, including a detailed daily log sheet, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in an institutional or campus setting preferred; customer service experience desirable.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Certifications: Completion of CPR/AED and First Aid certification training within 60 days of employment; full-time staff must complete Campus Safety Training from Training Academy held annually.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Ability to remain standing for extended periods, go up and down flights of steps, lift and push heavy objects, and withstand exposure to inclement weather.
Additional Requirements
  • Criminal Background Check: Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 2 years).
  • Uniform and Equipment: Must consistently wear assigned uniform and equipment and adhere to appearance guidelines.
