Position Overview
This role is integral to the Client Services division within Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S). It demands exceptional customer service abilities coupled with robust technical knowledge. The individual will be tasked with delivering IT assistance and services to faculty, staff, and students, ensuring a high standard of care and support.
Key Responsibilities
This position involves collaboration with an on-campus team to offer technical support to the university community through various channels, including in-person interactions, remote support, and one-on-one assistance in offices or classrooms. The responsibilities encompass a wide range of routine and urgent technology requirements, including:
- Providing End-User Support and Desktop (Endpoint) Support.
- Conducting basic troubleshooting and support for Audio-Visual (AV) equipment.
Essential Duties
The role requires both teamwork and independent work to execute critical end-user support tasks, such as:
- Deploying, monitoring, and maintaining both Windows and Mac hardware and software.
- Resolving network and printing challenges.
- Managing the lifecycle of computers and IT assets, including configuration and replacement.
Utilizing advanced knowledge of industry standards and best practices, the individual will provide comprehensive support for hardware and software.
Qualifications
Minimum educational requirements include an Associate's degree with four years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling six years. Candidates should possess:
- Proficiency in both Windows and Mac OS, with demonstrated skills in configuration, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with endpoint management systems such as Active Directory and Configuration Manager.
- Familiarity with Remote Support Tools to assist users in various environments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to address user inquiries effectively.
- A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional desirable attributes include:
- A passion for customer interaction and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Experience with Azure/Active Directory and the Microsoft 365 Ecosystem.
- Experience mentoring or coaching younger individuals.
- Additional technology certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals).
