Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at Weeks Marine. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising craft employees, ensuring projects are completed safely and on time. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you will collaborate with various stakeholders, including craft workers, job teams, and engineers.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction, with at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role. You will be responsible for managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence. You will also collaborate with engineers and job teams to determine project needs, utilize equipment and materials to maximize production and minimize costs, and set performance goals and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Set performance goals and deadlines
  • Coordinate and interface effectively with superintendents and foremen to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence
  • Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor needs, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
  • Keep track of material stock and orders
  • Ensure project rules, procedures, and programs are followed consistently

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, and other documents
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance
  • General computer skills required, Microsoft Office proficiency (Word and Excel)
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience with cranes is preferred
  • Must have ability to manage and inspire others
  • High School Diploma/GED required

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies, and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift for long periods of time
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and stairways, and work from platforms
  • Must be capable of working outside in the elements, including but not limited to, the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind, and must be able to work for periods of up to 12 hours a day
