Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Records & Billing Management
- Initiate requests for medical records and billing from healthcare providers.
- Maintain communication with case managers regarding the status of requested records and bills through our case management system.
- Organize and file medical records upon receipt.
- Analyze records and bills for accuracy, relevance, and any discrepancies.
- Obtain imaging records for specific medical conditions as necessary.
- Process and track HIPAA-compliant requests for medical records and billing from treatment providers.
- Utilize both electronic and paper methods for requests, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Monitor and update the status of client medical releases as needed.
- Assist with various aspects of casework related to medical documentation and billing inquiries.
- Clarify details regarding treatment providers, dates, and locations.
Medical Balance Oversight
- Confirm outstanding balances for client treatments with healthcare providers.
- Ensure clients are utilizing their health insurance appropriately and that providers are billing the insurance companies correctly.
- Guide providers in submitting bills to the correct entities, whether insurance or medical payment coverage.
- Keep detailed records of balance information in the case management system and alert case managers to significant updates.
- 1-5 years of recent leadership experience, ideally in a personal injury law firm setting.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional communication abilities and a positive demeanor.
- Friendly and approachable in a professional environment, capable of managing multiple client interactions.
- Able to follow directions while also contributing innovative ideas for office improvement.
