Role Summary
The Community Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting adults with developmental disabilities. This position involves organizing and leading daily activities that encourage community participation, promote cultural awareness, and connect individuals with opportunities that align with their personal aspirations. Activities may include cultural events, educational outings, skill-building excursions, and volunteer opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide groups of up to 5 participants during community outings.
- Address the fundamental needs of participants while engaging in community activities, including medication management and assistance with daily living tasks.
- Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and behavioral strategies as necessary.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of each participant's ISP and specific requirements to ensure effective support.
- Prepare monthly budgets for outings and accurately track expenses for financial reconciliation.
- Complete necessary documentation, including daily progress reports, in a timely manner.
- Utilize agency vehicles or public transportation to facilitate community access for individuals.
- Provide basic first aid as required.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
