Job Summary

As a Manufacturing Tooling Technician at Farrar Corp, you will be responsible for the rigging, maintenance, and repair of various production equipment, including patterns and core boxes used in the sand casting process to produce metal components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain patterns using various materials (wood, plastic, metal) based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Modify existing patterns or core boxes as needed to accommodate design changes or improve casting quality.
  • Inspect patterns regularly to ensure they are in optimal condition for casting operations.
  • Repair damaged patterns by filling, shaping, or reinforcing them to restore functionality.
  • Assemble pattern components and core boxes to form complete patterns for sand casting.
  • Deliver, retrieve, clean, and inspect tooling for daily foundry production.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in patternmaking is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Able to complete accurate work with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and walk.
