About the Role

The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly motivated and organized Events & Programs Director to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning and executing various events and programs that promote business growth and community development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute events such as the Business Outlook Breakfast, Chamber Annual Awards, Business Expo, and Chamber Classic Golf Tournament, among others.
  • Secure sponsorships and negotiate contracts with potential sponsors.
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, speaker coordination, and vendor communication.
  • Track event expenses and ensure alignment with designated budgets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Director to determine event marketing approaches and messaging.
  • Establish and follow event checklists and timelines to ensure successful event execution.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning, relationship management, and business development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in event planning software and tools.
