Donor Relations Program Manager

Job Summary
The University of the Pacific seeks a highly skilled Donor Relations Program Manager to join its team. This role is responsible for designing and implementing a portfolio of programming focused on donor recognition, engagement, and retention.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, marketing, or a related field, with a proven track record of administering donor stewardship programs and enhancing stewardship practices.
The Donor Relations Program Manager will oversee three donor recognition societies, manage first-time donor recognition, and collaborate with annual giving to ensure well-coordinated solicitation and stewardship plans for recognition society members and other annual giving donors.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional customer service focus, and strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a portfolio of programming focused on donor recognition, engagement, and retention
- Oversee three donor recognition societies: Heritage Society, 1851 Society, and Pacific Loyal
- Manage first-time donor recognition, ensuring routine timely completion of first year stewardship touchpoints
- Collaborate with annual giving to ensure well-coordinated solicitation and stewardship plans for recognition society members and other annual giving donors
- Develop, manage, and execute project activities and timelines for special recognition projects
- Liaise with annual giving to ensure well-coordinated solicitation and stewardship plans for recognition society members and other annual giving donors
- Collaborate on broad-based impact reporting and develop messaging and creative concepts to convey the impact of gifts through various channels and mediums
- Plan and execute student gratitude events, curate grateful student content, and build a roster of students interested in generating such content
- Work with division partners to plan and staff donor events, participate in program planning, coach student participants, and prepare supporting materials as needed
- Respond to special needs and requests from donors and from the VP Development
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three (3) years of experience in fundraising, marketing, or a related field
- Demonstrated success administering donor stewardship programs and enhancing stewardship practices
- Working knowledge of fundraising principles and experience integrating stewardship at appropriate stages and levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional customer service focus and orientation
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Microsoft Excel proficiency and an aptitude for handling large quantities of data
- Experience using CRM systems, Raiser's Edge NXT experience a plus
Work Environment/Work Week/Travel
The work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with use of computer and phone. The work generally performed during standard business hours, night and/or additional hours may be required to meet business needs or deadlines. A valid driver's license is required, and the incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business.
